On this day in history: September 22, 1975 - In front of the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco, Sara Jane Moore pulls out a Smith and Wesson .38 revolver and points it at Gerald Ford. Before she can assassinate the President, a bystander named Oliver "Bill" Sipple grabs Moore's arm. Sipple, a closeted gay man, is later outed by the press. The spotlight on his personal life causes him to complain: "My sexual orientation has nothing to do with saving the President's life."
Born on this day in history: September 22, 1961 - Scott Baio (1961 - ) New York actor Scott Baio is best known for playing Fonzi's cousin, Chachi Arcola, on the sitcom "Happy Days" (1974), and its spin-off, "Joanie Loves Chachi" (1982). His role on the 1984's "Charles in Charge" further solidified his teen heartthrob status. In 2007, Baio returned to TV in a reality show about his life, called "Scott Baio is 45&and Single."
