I positioned Mr. Nitro on the front lawn Friday afternoon. When he became shaded by the tree under which I positioned him, I bathed him lovingly, using Mothers California Gold Car Wash, and dried him with a soft cotton towel. I allowed him to spend the night on the lawn. In the morning, I applied Mothers Reflections Advanced Leather Care to his leather seats. He shines!

Today promises to be a beautiful day. The sun is shining brightly, and temperatures in the upper 70s are forecast. Saturday was windy and chilly, and it rained sporadically. This did not deter us from grilling, however. During a brief window of opportunity, Laura braved the weather and grilled pork loin chops and boneless, skinless chicken breasts. She dry-rubbed them with Cajun seasoning, charred them on both sides, moved them away from the flames, sprayed with a mixture of one part extra-virgin olive oil and three parts balsamic vinegar, and continued cooking until they were done. I made a pot of Cajun beans with white onion, garlic, Jalapeño peppers, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, brown sugar, molasses, tomato sauce, Cajun seasoning, ground Cayenne pepper, ground black pepper, and white beans. It was a delightful meal.

Yesterday was sunny and warm most of the day. There was a brief rain early in the afternoon that lasted only a few minutes. Laura grilled a large London broil perfectly (charred on the outside and rare in the center). I made garlic mashed sweet potatoes and steamed green beans. It was an excellent meal.

It was a welcome warmth, however, since the wind this morning—while not particularly strong—is chilly. This should be a beautiful day. Unfortunately, rain is forecast for the weekend. I hope the May flowers enjoy it, since I shall not.

I shall take a photograph of the front of Mr. Nitro, displaying his new NITRORT license plate, and post it on Friday's blog entry.

It rained during the night! The weatherpeople forecast rain for yesterday. The day, however, was sunny and warm. The rain apparently arrived during the night, since evidence of it was visible this morning. The sky is overcast, and more rain may well be on the way. The birds are not singing.

I bought a Braun 360º Complete 8995 Clean&Renew. The 360º Complete 8995 Clean&Renew is the world's first 360 degree complete shaver from Braun. It simply captures the hair other shavers leave behind: new PowerComb technology lifts problem hairs that lie flat against the skin. The Smart Foil technology captures hair from any direction and the 4-way moving active head follows the contours of your skin for that close shave. The Gillette Precision Comfort Blades cut hair close in a single stroke. The Clean&Renew system cleans, lubricates, dries and charges the shaver putting it in optimal shape ready for your next shave. There are 3 automated cleaning programs. There is an extendable trimmer for long hairs.

The 360º Complete 8995 Clean&Renew is rechargeable. Charging time is 60 minutes, and a quick charge takes 3 minutes. Input voltage is 100-240V, and the shaver comes with a 12V smart plug. The LCD panel is interactive, and the shaver has smart logic inside, including foil and cutter replacement alert. The Braun 8995 might seem pricey ($149.95 at Amazon.com), but when one considers the annual cost of shaving cream and razor blades, it is a bargain. I highly recommend the Braun 360º Complete 8995 Clean&Renew to all.

Weatherpeople forecast thunder showers for Saturday and rain for Sunday. Both days were sunny and dry. This morning, however, the sky appears troubled. Dark clouds fill the sky, and the potential of rain is great. If it does rain today, I am thankful that it waited until today to do so. The weekend was beautiful, and Easter Sunday's weather provided a perfect environment for the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus.

For Easter dinner, we had game hens, asparagus, and rice. I cut the game hens open at the back and splayed them in a Pyrex baking dish. Laura applied a spicy dry rub and grilled them perfectly—charring them on both sides over high flames then moving away from the flames to continue cooking for 45 minutes. She sprayed the birds each 15 minutes with a mixture of one part extra-virgin olive oil and three parts balsamic vinegar. I steamed asparagus by placing moist spears in a casserole dish, seasoning, covering, and cooking in the microwave on high for 5 minutes. I placed 2 cups of brown rice, 3 cups of water, 2 tablespoons of I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, four large white mushrooms (thinly sliced), and seasoning in a large sauce pan and cooked until done on the stove. The food was delightful. We enjoyed a bottle of champagne with our meal.

Despite a forecast of rain yesterday, the day was sunny and warm, and the barbecue called out for use. We bought two New York strip steaks during our shopping. They were so large and thick that we shared one and froze the other for later use. We also had steamed asparagus and baked sweet potato. It was a delightful meal.

Today promises to be a beautiful day. The sun is shining brightly, the sky is blue, and the birds are singing.

We watched "Facing the Giants:" [This inspirational drama from award-winning producers Alex and Stephen Kendrick combines faith and football in the tale of high school coach Grant Taylor (Alex Kendrick), who rises above failure to create a winning spirit on the field. Taylor faces a losing team, a failing marriage and the possibility of being fired. At the end of his rope, he puts his life in God's hands and, in doing so, finds a stronger purpose and, ultimately, salvation.] We absolutely loved this movie. It was a great story that overcame predictability with wonderfully believable and inspirational scenes. The photography of the football action scenes was dramatic and extremely well done. The message was strong and undeniable. We highly recommend this movie to viewers of all ages.
