I have been thinking about San Francisco, their new anti-gun legislation, and the 9th Circuit Court: The most reasonable and judicious remedy would be for California to return San Francisco to Mexico -- on the condition, of course, that San Francisco be physically severed (an induced earthquake would be efficacious) from California and positioned as an island in the Sea of Cortez.
