Born on this day in history: February 9, 1944 - Alice Walker (1944 - ) Born in Eatonton, Georgia, poet and novelist Alice Walker is best known for her novels, notably The Color Purple (1982), which won a Pulitzer Prize and a National Book Award. It was made into a successful 1985 movie a 2005 Broadway musical. In 2006, she was inducted into the California Hall of Fame for her contributions to literature

Laura Returns from Tucson
Laura returned from her vacation last evening. She arrived home shortly after 9 PM. The kitties and I welcomed her. We missed her greatly while she was away.

I prepared a delightful snack for her return: cooked and chilled crab leg meat, cooked and chilled large prawns, spicy cocktail sauce, and champagne. It was an excellent homecoming!

Stubb's Visits the Blog!
Many of you will recall when I blogged about some incredibly delicious barbecue pork sandwiches I made using Stubb's Spicy BBQ Sauce. The sandwiches were truly delicious, and the Stubb's sauce is amazing. We intend to recreate this treat very soon.
