On this day in history: February 23, 1996 - The "Freeway Killer," William G. Bonin, executed at San Quentin. For his last meal he chose two pepperoni and sausage pizzas, three coffee ice creams, and fifteen cans of Coca Cola totaling a rather unhealthful 6391 calories.

Born on this day in history: February 23, 1787 - Emma Hart Willard (1787 - 1870) educator. She pioneered higher education for women; founded Troy Female Seminary in 1821, which became the Emma Willard School.

The rain and wind are gone. The sky is blue, the scattered clouds are white, the sun is shining brightly, and the birds are singing gleefully. Praise God for this (and every) day!

It was COLD this morning, however—providing an opportunity to test Mr. Nitro's defroster system. It is a very efficient system, indeed. The defroster quickly melted the ice on Mr. Nitro's windshield and defogged the windshield and side mirrors.

Speaking of Mr. Nitro, there is an excellent review of this fine machine in today's USA Today! Titled, "Dodge Nitro so easy to love," it uses a photograph of an Inferno Red Crystal Pearl Nitro R/T, captioned, "Dodge Nitro: Styling could be considered one of the most likable elements of the truck-style, small SUV."
