On this day in history: February 19, 1942 - Roosevelt signs E.O. 9066, the internment order permitting Japanese Americans to be held in concentration camps for the duration of the war.

Born on this day in history: February 19, 1473 - Nicolas Copernicus (1473 - 1543) astronomer. He was first to propose that planets revolved around the sun; wrote "Mathematics of a Heliocentric Solar System," 1543.
