On this day in history: December 22, 1991 - Charles Barkley arrested on charges of battery and disorderly conduct, Milwaukee. He had punched a heckler, but was acquitted.






Born on this day in history: December 22, 1945 -[ Diane Sawyer (1945 - ) Broadcast journalist Diane Sawyer began her career in 1967 as a weathergirl. She then became a Nixon press aide in 1970. Returning to TV news in 1984, Sawyer was the first woman correspondent on 60 Minutes, and in 1989 she joined ABC News. In 2009, she announced that she would be leaving "Good Morning America" to become the anchor for "ABC World News."
