On this Day in History: January 14, 1943 - Actress Frances Farmer forcefully taken to jail for parole violations with regard to her drunk driving conviction. She receives a 180 day sentence. Several days later, she is committed to an insane asylum, where she receives a lobotomy five years later.
Born on this Day in History: January 14, 1968 - LL Cool J (1968 - ) Born in Bayshore, New York, hip-hop artist LL Cool J (or "Ladies Love Cool James") released his first hit while a teen. His fourth album, Mama Said Knock You Out, was a mainstream success. He crossed over into film and TV in 1985, and now stars in the hit series, "NCIS: Los Angeles."
