Laura has been in Tucson, Arizona since last Friday. She is returning this evening. The cats miss her, although they have appeared eager to occupy her chair during her absence. My brothers, Phillip (from Santa Cruz) and Jeffrey (from Fullerton), came here last week to visit with our mother. Phillip and Jeffrey came to dinner Friday evening. I made black bean chili with shredded pork tenderloin that had been dry-rubbed and grilled. Phillip returned home Saturday morning. Jeffrey came to dinner Saturday. I grilled New York strip steaks, red bell pepper, and zucchini. Jeffrey came to dinner Sunday. I made a pasta salad with sliced grilled chicken breast, tri-color rotini, red bell pepper, celery, black olives, garbanzo beans, kidney beans, and pear tomatoes. Jeffrey is returning home this morning.

The wind that howled fiercely all day yesterday has departed! The sun is shining, the sky is blue, and the birds are singing with great glee.
