Born on this day in history: January 16, 1911 - Dizzy Dean (1911 - 1974) baseball player, sportscaster. As a pitcher, 1930-41, he was the only pitcher (except Denny McLain, 1968) to win 30 games in one season, 1934; inducted into the Hall of Fame, 1953.
