Zeus was a willing subject Saturday morning. He enjoyed posing for me. Click to enlarge.

Saturday evening, I sautéed sliced white onions and minced garlic in extra-virgin olive oil and sea salt until the onions were caramelized. I then added whole Johnsonville brats, sliced red bell pepper, sliced white mushrooms, Italian seasoning, ground black pepper, and Red Monkey Cajun Spice. I cooked a box of Barilla penne until al dente, drained, and transferred to a large pasta bowl. I added the contents of the sauté pan, and Laura incorporated the penne into the sausage and vegetables. At the table, we added crushed red pepper. Laura added DiGiorno Parmesan cheese, and I added crumbled feta cheese. It was a delightful meal. A large quantity of leftovers remains for later this week.

The weather was beautiful over the weekend. Yesterday was particularly warm—reaching a high of 78 degrees yesterday afternoon. There was a strong wind, but the sky was clear, and the sun was bright. It was a glorious day for the Oktoberfest celebration at Sierra Nevada. Laura painted children's faces, and I strolled about and documented the event photographically. The attendance was excellent, the food and drink were stellar, and the entertainment was wonderful. It was an incredible event.

For dinner Sunday evening, I sautéed sliced white onion and minced garlic in extra-virgin olive oil and sea salt until the onions were caramelized. I added sliced white mushrooms and sliced chicken breast. As this cooked, I added Chardonnay, poultry seasoning, ground black pepper, cumin, and corn starch. I cooked a package of fettuccine until al dente, drained, and added to the sauté pan. Laura folded the chicken and vegetables into the fettuccine. At the table, we added crushed red pepper. It was a delicious meal. A quantity of leftovers followed Laura to work this morning, and sufficient leftovers for another meal remain.
