Born on this Day in History: November 8, 1973 - Gretchen Mol was born November 8, 1973 in Deep River, Connecticut. She made her film acting debut in Spike Lee's Girl 6 and achieved acclaim in Donnie Brasco, which many thought would lead her to become the next big female star. She did land the lead role in The Notorious Bettie Page.

On this Day in History: November 8, 1991 - Convicted crack smoker Marion Barry, who served six months in prison in 1990, is re-elected mayor of Washington D.C.
