On this day in history: December 14, 1991 - A ferry near Safaga, Egypt on the Red Sea strikes a coral reef, drowning more than 460 passengers.

Born on this day in history: December 14, 1946 - Patty Duke (1946 - ) Born Anna Marie Duke on December 14, 1946 in Elmhurst, New York. Patty Duke's first big role came in 1951 when she was cast as Helen Keller in the Broadway version of The Miracle Worker. In 1962, the play was turned into a feature film, and Patty won an Academy Award for best supporting actress. She was the youngest person ever to win the award.

The Weather
We have enjoyed fairly mild weather for the last few days. Yesterday, temperatures were in the high 50s, and it remained dry throughout the day. It is currently 45°, and we should see mid-50° temperatures this afternoon. It rained a bit during the night, but it is clear and dry currently.

Worship and the New Guitar
Laura sang with the worship team at Harvest Christian Center and I played guitar. Yesterday was the final engagement for my Samick Strat. Today, I shall take delivery of a Black Cherry Burst Special Edition Custom Telecaster® FMT HH! Click to enlarge.






The Festival
There was a festival in the parking lot of the Catholic Church—just across the street from out house. There were several dozen horses, a musical group, and hundreds of attendees. I photographed the event and shall have samples online in the next few days.
