Scripture of the Day: And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him, to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven. --Luke 1:76-78

Top Things for 2008!
Top Mug Shots of 2008!

Heat Wave! Well, it is not quite a heat wave, but 41° I (relatively) enjoyed this morning, while journeying to my office, is certainly significantly warmer than the 29° it was yesterday at that time!

Great fighting back story as always. Pilot was honest at least. That's scary though!

The mug shots are amazing. I bet they don't go into resumes! ;-)

It's about 10 degrees warmer here today too. It sprinkled last night but it wasn't cold enough to freeze.

    Cap'n,

It sprinkled a bit during the night here, as well. It was too warm to freeze, so there was no deicing necessary this morning.

I doubt that the subjects of those mug shots are given the opportunity to preen prior to the photographs being taken!

The difference 1 day made in the weather is wild...rest of week and going into next week looks like lowest temps are 34 and higher...fine with me!

    That vid's pretty spooky...wonder how it's done?

    Darin,

The simplest methodology involves boring a 1.5" hole through the palm of one's hand.

Foregoing that, one must employ illusion.

I would opt for illusion. The man in the video did.

Vid's pretty slick eventhough of course I know it's a trick and all, still fun to watch. Why would you want to know how it's done Darin cause wouldn't that pretty much take all the fun out of it? I think it would.

That pic of the surfer guy's pretty slick too, even got his shadow just right like he's really flying through the air withou the board or the water etc. That's cool.

Hey David so you and Laura're going to make splitpea soup this weekend am I understanding you to say that? Thought so. That's quite a coincidence I must say cause as you know that's what we're going to do to. That's pretty amazing and I guess like I always say GMTA and all that. So let me know how yours turns out and what all you used and so forth and so on. K?

Yeah it's sure lots warmer today and plus which the sun was actually shining when I came home for lunch and all and that's pretty nice for a big change from the last couple of days and specially after the cold and wind and rain and all we had yesterday I must say. And it's looking like the temps lower than 32 deg are over for now so that's good and that didn't last long. Course winter actually really only starts on Sunday so who knows? It could get colder again and all before it gets warmer again if you know what I mean and I have no doubts you do. Just look at the snow and suchlike they're getting in places that you'd never expect it to be snowing like Florida nd Las Vegas and all, and when you think bout it our weather's not so bad after all if you know what I mean and I'm sure you do.

Well got to get these chompers working on my deli turkey sammie so I'm over and out.

    Cindy,

We had intended to produce a batch of split pea soup this weekend. The local market had Andersen's split pea soup at HALF PRICE, however, so I bought a great quantity of it.

    Chris,

While I am certainly not sweltering, it is significantly warmer than yesterday, and the sun is shining brightly.

I shall view your snow coverage!
