On this Day in History: April 5, 1951 - Julius and Ethel Rosenberg are sentenced to death for acts of treason, which in this case means giving atomic bomb secrets to the Soviet Union.
Born on this Day in History: April 5, 12908 - Bette Davis (1908 - 1989) Lowell, Massachusetts, native Bette Davis made her big screen debut in 1931's The Bad Sister after a talent scout saw one of her Broadway stage performances and asked her to screen test. Davis went on to have a robust, 50-year film career, and became the first person to secure ten Academy Award nominations for acting.
