Born on this Day in History: April 14, 12935 - Loretta Lynn (1935 - ) Country music superstar Loretta Lynn grew up in a poor coal mining town, and married at the age of 13. Her more than 40-year career began in 1956 with hit songs such as "I'm a Honky Tonk Girl," and "Coal Miner's Daughter." In 2005, her collaboration with rocker Jack White won her another Grammy, and introduced her music to a new audience.
