Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence?

Five were captured by the British as traitors and tortured before they died.

Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned.

Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army; another had two sons captured.

Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or hardships of the Revolutionary War.

They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.

What kind of men were they?

Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists.

Eleven were merchants, nine were farmers and large plantation owners; men of means, well educated, but they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well that the penalty would be death if they were captured.

Take a few minutes while enjoying your 4th of July holiday and silently thank these patriots.

    Great fighting back story! Great story about the salvation of the ex-homo! Great piece about the Declaration of Independence!

    Kudos to Cindy for the video. It's a real HOOT! Shows just how dumb+greedy people can be.

    Ah, that ex-Marine certainly curtailed the scofflaws' robbery intentions! I like it!

    I laughed until my sides ached when I first viewed the iPhone video yesterday when Cindy sent me the link. As you say, it certainly highlights the greed that controls some people's actions!

    That iPhone video is great! I loved seeing that!

    As for the price of iPhones: it's really not all that bad when you consider that it's an iPod, phone, and miniature computer. I've seen $300 phones that don't do half of what the iPhone does (minus the iPod aspect), then thrown in the price of a new iPod and it's a lot easier to justify.

    Even so, I won't be buying one quite yet. I'll wait awhile to see if there are major bugs, and perhaps wait for generation 2 or even 3.

    Yay! I'm off early today for the 4th! Yay! Of course I worked 12 hours yesterday in order to get off at noon today, so don't hate me too much! :)

    That video is a good lesson against greed. It serves that woman right!

    The 4th of July story is great, David! What sacrifices those brave souls made!

    The liberation from homosexuality story is wonderful!

    Glad everybody likes the video. I thought you would that's what I thought, so that's why I sent it to David so he could put it here for everybody to watch and have a good laugh. But like a couple of people have said it's more than just a funny video, cause it does show the material side of people, the greed and all. First off all those people waiting in line are GREEDY and PROUD. They are greedy to be trying to be among the first so they can COVET their iPhone and they are PROUD because they've made a commitment to an IDOL (the iPhone) and are PROUD to have one when their neighbors don't have one. So when you look at it like that it's not so funny anymore now is it? Didn't think so.

    Yeah the Red Monkey stuff is great. I'm spoiled with it and I'm putting one flavor or another on just bout everything cept ice cream and I'm darn tempted to try that. Sure the stuff in all flavors are good (GREAT!) for rubs but most of them (specially Lemon Pepper and Mango Habanera) are great for just sprinkling on whatever it is you might be eating at the time. I like Red Monkey a lot!

    Thanks to Chris for getting us all hot and bothered bout Red Monkey!

    Yeah the story bout the queer that got straightened out by God and liberated from being queer anymore is a wonderful story and it just shows how being queer is a PERSONAL CHOICE (a BAD one of course, but a personal choice none the less) not a mental illness or hereditary or anything like that, so all the psycho babel doesn't make it any better than what it is, which is just plain old SIN and BAD BEHAVIOR. That's all it is. And God working through the Holy Spirit can LIBERATE queers from being queer! Praise God. Course two things have to happen first--1) the queer has to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and want to PLEASE JESUS and PLEASE GOD and have FAITH that Jesus Christ is the WAY to SALVATION and FORGIVENESS of SIN--and 2) the queer has to WANT to CHANGE. Well, I guess if he accepts Jesus Christ and wants to please Jesus and God and seeks guidance from the Holy Spirit No. 2 doesn't really qualify as a No. 2, cause he's (or she's) already there anyway, wanting to CHANGE, that is, cause he (or she) wants to PLEASE God and PLEASE Jesus, and he (or she) knows that by SINNING he (or she) isn't pleasing ANYBODY but HIS (or HER) FLESH! So there you've got it.

    Go Marines! Great story. I want that guy in the store when I go shopping and somebody tries to rob the place! He's a hero there's not a doubt one bout that, and that's for darn sure. Subway should give him free sammiches for life. That's what they should do.

    Happy 4th of July everybody! It's BBQed chicken and burgers and hot dogs and salads and chips and salsa and margaritas and beer and sodas and ice tea and lots of Red Monkey plus lots of time in the swimming pool for us! We were going to the fireworks at Cal Expo and the neighbors too but we decided not to do that and stay close to home and just walk across the street instead. What a great time this would be to have one of those bad boy Margaritaville Frozen Concoction Makers, huh David? Well, blenders'll have to do!

    I am pleased so many have been procuring and enjoying Red Monkey!

    Journey now to my blog and order a jar or two of Samball Oelek under my post entitled The Right Stuff which was posted June 28th. Samball is incredible, and, teams up with the Monkey quite well!

    Everyone enjoy the Holiday tomorrow! I have procured fireworks at the local frocery for my kids to have fun with (under my supervision of course....wait! Maybe I should find an adult!)

    Even had someone handed me an iPhone I could not afford the monthly fees, so, my Zune pkayer and work funded cell phone will just have to suffice for now, my friend!

    Cost is not an issue (although I suppose it should be!) for me. I simply do not find that the creature has the features I require, such as camera with zoom, keyboard, voice recognition, Windows Mobile interface, etc. Oh, yeah--NO BUBBLE BREAKER! That is the deal breaker!

    The "computer" capabilities are too limited to be a viable alternative to my Pocket PC, and the storage capacity is far too limited to be a viable alternative to a Zune.

    As a veteran of the US Navy I tend to think about our country a lot as you can imagine.

    I have to tell my own patriotic story here.

    I was home on leave from Japan once and a good friend (so I thought) and I were enjoying the freedoms that I and so many others have fought for for many years. While have a cold beverage he said he did not understand what the big deal was about the Middle East countries burning the American flag for cryin out loud it is just a piece of cloth. WOW, you can imagine my face and my jaw dropping to the deck (floor). It just about caused a fight between the two of us. I mean here I am on leave from the United States Navy and he tells me this... I don't think so.

    So many people take there freedom for granted and really need to stop and think about it. They actually need to read your blog. Well said d()()d thank you for the great post.

    I think I will need to link to your post from my blog at www.fam5.com.

    On a lighter note. What kind of Pocket PC do you use?

    Laura read your comment, saw mention of margaritas, and called me demanding that we have margaritas tomorrow as a Fourth of July beverage!

    I can deny her nothing, so I piloted Mr. Nitro to Sav-Mor Market and purchased hot gourmet salsa, Touch of Lime Tostitos, limeade, limes, and a 1.75-liter jug of Jose Cuervo Especial.

    That should ease us nicely into a patriotic mood!

    Later, it shall be grilled boneless, skinless chicken breasts (well-rubbed with Red Monkey Barbecue Spice Rub!) and grilled corn on the cob.

    David - My 770 arrived a couple of hours ago, it is sucking power for it's thirsty battery and after attending fireworks with the kids a bit later I figure it will be fully charged and ready to go.

    I think classic Doom will be the first game I load and then I shall see if there is a link version or clone of Bubble Breaker

    Admiral - I could not agree more with you, it pains me greatly to see our great country's freedoms taken for granted!!! Too often people complain about what the y do not have (usually more material goods) and totally forgetting what they do possess!
