Born on this Day in History:October 14, 1927 - Roger Moore appeared on Broadway in A Pin to See the Peepshow and in the Hollywood film The Last Time I Saw Paris. On television he won stardom as the action-man hero Simon Templer in "The Saint" (1962–9). Moore played the role of James Bond in seven films between Live and Let Die and A View to a Kill. He was knighted in 2003. His memoir is titled My Word is My Bond.
On this Day in History: October 14, 1977 - During an anti-gay rally in Des Moines, Iowa, Anita Bryant gets hit in the face mid-prayer with a banana cream pie. Bryant finishes with custard dripping from her face: "Father, I want to ask that you forgive him and that we love him, and that we're praying for him to be delivered from his deviant lifestyle."
