Stupid Criminals, No Kidding, -and- Neither Rain nor Sleet...

Stupid Criminals - college student jailed for throwing M&Ms at cops
No Kidding - parents fly away, leave toddler at airport
Neither Rain nor Sleet... - postal worker accused of taking 100,000 pieces of mail home

On this day in history: May 14, 1976 - Keith Relf, former vocalist of the Yardbirds, is electrocuted in his London home while either tuning or playing a guitar belonging to either him or his son, in either the basement or the bathtub. Details are sort of sketchy, resulting from the family's reticence to describe the death scene.

Born on this day in history: May 14, 1944 - George Lucas (1944-) Born in Modesto, CA, director, writer and producer George Lucas hit it big with low-budget "American Graffiti" (1973), which is considered one of the most successful low-budget features ever made. He then created fantasy adventure "Star Wars" (1977). Made for $11 million, the film grossed over $513 million worldwide in its original release alone. Lucas continued the story in sequels, setting up a special effects company, Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) and a sound studio, Skywalker Sound. A single parent, Lucas has adopted three children.

Video of the Day: Challenger 2.0 - Dodge's New Muscle Car

Here is a photograph from last weekend's May Madness car show. I shall soon
produce a slide show and will post the URL here when I have done so. Click

Each weekday morning, I awaken at approximately 5 AM. Sometimes, I awaken a few minutes earlier, and sometimes I awaken a few minutes later. I always awaken within 5 or 10 minutes of 5 AM, however. Imagine my surprise this morning when I awakened, looked at the alarm clock on Laura's side of the bed, and saw that it was 6:05 AM! Yikes! I scurried about—showering and dressing. Generally, I have 30 minutes or more each morning during which I read scripture. This morning, there was no time for this. I bade Laura a good morning and scurried off to Mr. Nitro. As I drove to work, I thought that it appeared very dark. Lately, it has been daylight during my morning drive to my office.

Imagine my surprise when I looked at Mr. Nitro's time display and saw that it was FIVE-THIRTY AM! Apparently, Laura had incorrectly set the time on the alarm clock. Oh, well, it is quiet here at 5:30 AM. I should be able to get some things accomplished before the rush of clientele descends upon me!

Toddler left at airport is amazing. I saw this on television news last night. It's hard to imagine parents that unaware.

Challenger looks and sounds amazing. Dodge's got a bit home run with this one.

Photo is awesome! I'm amazed by the photos you take. I'm looking forward to seeing the slideshow.

Talk about an early start! ;-)

That car vid is sure something. If it was a convertible I'd be hankering for it probably but so it's a good thing for me it's not cause I magine the gas mileage really is bad, and my Mustang's bad enough, don't need my fuel bill to be any higher than it is. Got to admit though that's sure a beauty and it sure sounds nice and all. It's amazing it costs not so much considering what kind of car it is. Good vid.

Pretty pic of the engine. Cap'n Jack's got that right, you've sure got a good photo eye or whatever it's called when it's a pic and not a painting or whatever. Framing or whatever you call it's one of my not strong points that's for sure. I don't cut off people's heads or anything but I don't seem to be good at getting things in perspective. Know I'm not using the right words but no doubt you know what I mean, right? Thought so.

Let me know when the pics are all ready to watch. I like cars case you can't tell. (she snickers)

Been eating anything lately? (she winks)

Can't make up my mind...wanted a Challenger...new one...before they started making them...then I thought I wanted an old car again...had lots of fun with the Firebird...then I think about things always breaking on the old Firebird and it never handled all that slick...now I see that vid and I'm thinking I'll order a Challenger SRT-8. Why fight it? :)

    Enjoy!

FOOD! I got so involved talking about my early morning adventure that I neglected to mention our dinner last evening!

We had grilled salmon fillets, grilled yellow squash, grilled Jalapenños, and grilled baby red potatoes. I did a dry rub on the salmon (Tony Chachere's More Spice, ground black pepper, and dill weed). I halved the potatoes and boiled them for 10 minutes. I sliced a large yellow squash into four slices. I sprayed the salmon and vegetables with olive oil Pam and seasoned the vegetables with Tony Chachere's More Spice. Laura grilled the vegetables perfectly. She grilled the salmon on a strip of aluminum foil (sprayed with olive oil Pam) and covered with an aluminum foil tent.

It was a thoroughly deightful meal!

    Darin,

I would support your decision to buy a new Challenger. If your main concerns are performance and drivability, the new unit is the only sensible choice.

If, on the other hand, you desire to make an investment, a 1970 Challenger R/T would be the optimal choice.

I just saw yesterday's video and can't stop laughing. How clever it is.

The salmon sounds great. I really like salmon on the barbecue. It's really nice for a special meal.

I'll look at the slideshow when I get home from work. I really enjoy your photos, David. The engine photo is awesome.

I think I like the looks of the '09 Camero that is being taunted my Chevy. I must say that Challenger does look impressive.

I did not see you take a pic of my engine over the weekend ;)

I sometimes get into work an hour earlier then the crowd so that I can get something done. Mostly reading but at least no disturbances from clowns.

Can not wait for the slide show of the car show. I shall watch for the link.
