Hiroshima Day, In-N-Out Burger, and Enjoy!
Hiroshima Day - 2013 August 6 and 9 sees 68th Anniversary of the Atomic bombing of the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In-N-Out Burger - Laura sent me a photograph from her Motorola Droid M. The image indicated she was driving her Dodge Challenger toward In-N-Out Burger! I knew from experience this meant a burger for ME upon Laura's arrival at our nest! Enjoy! - Relax and enjoy these images and videos!

This event was the opening chapter on the nuclear age and the threat of nuclear weapons worldwide.

Under the slogan "Hiroshima never again" the Sydney Hiroshima Day Committee has campaigned for nuclear weapons to made illegal and to be never again used or threatened to be used.

The need is just as great now as ever it was.

Later that day, she sent me another photograph from her smartphone. My burger was on its way to me! Drive carefully, Laura! You are carrying precious cargo!

Upon Laura's arrival at our nest, she found me seated at the dining room table, smiling, drooling, twitching with anticipation. She handed me my burger!

Within a brief period of time, it looked like this!

Shortly thereafter, there was no trace of the burger remaining. It was delicious!

WARNING: This video contains some foul language near the end. I hesitated to include it here, but the balance of the video is just altogether TOO FUNNY not to share it!

Today is beautiful! The sun is shining, the wind is low, the sky is clear, and the birds are singing! It is forecast to be in the low 70s through the weekend. I realize we need rain, but this is certainly nicer!
When I bought Ahi fillets at Sav-Mor Foods earlier in the week, I used one fillet for the salad I described in an earlier post. The other fillet remains vacuum-sealed and waiting use. I believe I shall make sushi tomorrow evening!
For dinner last evening, we enjoyed egg and bacon burritos. I cracked and beat six Eggland's Best eggs and cut 15 slices of cooked bacon into one-inch pieces and added to the eggs. I seasoned this with Tony Chachere's More Spice and cooked until fluffy and done. Laura warmed four large Mission flour tortillas. At the table, we assembled burritosadding grated extra-sharp cheddar cheese, fresh Chiles d'Arbo, crushed red peppers, and Louisiana hot sauce. My dreams are often strange. This morning's dreamfollowing a return to sleep after a bathroom visiteasily qualifies as one of the strangest. I found myself on the stage of an outdoor amphitheatre. The stage had a full compliment of guitars, amplifiers, speaker boxes, microphones, keyboards, and drums. I was standing in the center of the stage, near the front. I was holding the Samick Stratocaster I recently purchased. The guitar strap hung across my chest and over my shoulder. One end of the Monster Cable was plugged into the guitar, and the other end of the 25' cable was plugged into the Crate amplifier I recently purchased.
(I find it interesting that elements of reality are often integrated into dreams.)
Musicians began taking their positions on the stage, and a great wave of people began filling the large open area facing the stage. Soon, the musicians were all in place and had completed the tuning ritual. All looked to me for a sign.
Suddenly, without hesitation or consideration, I began to play and sing a medley of rock anthems from the 1960s. It was a very young crowdlate teens and early 20s. As they moved to the music and mouthed the lyrics, they began aging noticeably! Gradually, with each song, they progressively aged.
The dream ended, and I awakened. It was not an unpleasant dream. In fact, I was smiling when I awakened. It was, however, a very strange dream.

(UPDATE: 7:10 AM) Yesterday, I made an appointment for 8 AM this morning to diagnose a PC and provide an estimate for repairs. Imagine my surprise when the client arrived at 7 AM! Imagine my even greater surprise when I saw the computer and realized it was a Macintosh and not a PC!
ME: I see that your computer is a Macintoshnot a PC. I do not service Macs, since I am not trained to do so.
CLIENT: What do you mean?
ME: I see that your computer is a Macintoshnot a PC. I do not service Macs, since I am not trained to do so.
CLIENT: So you're saying you can't fix it?
ME: I am not trained to service Macs. I recommend that you call Best Buy in Chico. It is possible that they have trained Macintosh technicians. If not, perhaps they can recommend someone.
CLIENT: So you're saying you can't fix it?
ME: Yes.
CLIENT: [shrugs shoulders, cocks head, throws up arms, raises voice] Why didn't you tell me yesterday when I called?
ME: You told me on the telephone that your PC required repair. This is not a PC. It is a Macintosh. If you had told me your computer was a Mac, I would have told you that I am not trained to service Macs.
CLIENT: Well, I wish you'd've told me before I unhooked this thing and brought it down here. [shrugs and sighs]
ME: Indeed.

For dinner last evening, we had Johnsonville brat sandwiches. Laura grilled Johnsonville brats and Tyson boneless, skinless chicken breasts (to be used in a future meal). When the brats were nearly done, she split two in half and topped them with Provolone cheese. She toasted two sourdough buns on the grill. At the table, we added thinly-sliced red onion, Klausen Stackers, and hot dog mustard. Ruffles sour cream and onion potato chips accompanied the meal. It was delicious.
