On this day in history: November 19, 1991 - Michael Rockefeller, 23-year-old son of New York Governor Nelson Rockefeller (later Vice President), disappears while searching for Asmat wood carvings in the jungles near Atsj, Papua New Guinea.

Born on this day in history: November 19, 1926 - Jeane Kirkpatrick (1926 - 2006) diplomat. She was the U.S. permanent representative to the United Nations, 1981; resigned, 1985.

Scripture of the Day: "Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night." (Psalm 1:1-2)

Hometown Christmas was a great success—due, in part, to some incredibly beautiful weather. The weather had been forecast to be foul, cold, and wet, yet it was sunny and glorious. Today, however, is another matter. It is cold, wet, and windy. Oh well, it is appropriate weather for this time of year.
