    July 5, 1976 - After receiving an especially bloody beating at the hands of her husband Ike, Tina Turner sneaks out of the Dallas hotel they're staying at while he is asleep. She walks away from their 16-year relationship with only 36 cents in her pocket.







    Born on this Day in History: July 5, 1963 - Edie Falco (1963 - ) Born in Brooklyn, New York, actress Edie Falco got her big break in the Woody Allen film Bullets Over Broadway (1994). In 1999, Falco earned the attention of casting directors at "The Sopranos." Her role as Carmela Soprano earned the actress three Emmys, two Golden Globes, and five SAG awards. More recently, she has a starring role in "Nurse Jackie."
