Anniversary Dinner

Although our 9th anniversary (and my birthday) was yesterday, we shall celebrate this evening. I shall be making pasta carbonara, and we shall pair it with an excellent vintage wine gifted Laura that we have been saving for this occasion.

Birthday/Anniversary UPDATE - 9:30 AM:

WOW! A special package just arrived from Omaha Steaks. It was sent to us from reader Chris! Chris and I have been long-distance friends for many, many years. Although we live far apart and have never physically met, we have remained great friends since the pre-Web days of BBSes and 300-baud modems!

The contents of this package will indeed provide excellent flesh for the new grill when it arrives next week!

Thank you, Chris!

For he is the living God and he endures forever; his kingdom will not be destroyed, his dominion will never end. The fires continue. The air quality is horrid. The sky is darkened from the smoke of many fires near here. This morning, there were ashes from the nearby fires on Mr. Nitro. While the ashes were lightly scattered about him, this is the first time I have seen such evidence of the fires. I continue to pray for the welfare of those who have been affected by the fires and for those still in danger from the fires.
