    Born on this Day in History: June 12, 1924 - Born in Milton, Massachusetts, George H.W. Bush fought in WWII and was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. He was Ronald Reagan's VP for two terms and then won the 1998 presidential race, losing his bid for a second term to Bill Clinton.

    On this Day in History: June 12, 1987 - In one of his most famous Cold War speeches, President Ronald Reagan challenges Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev to tear down the Berlin Wall. Two years later, deliriously happy East and West Germans did break down the infamous barrier between East and West Berlin.
