National Orange Blossom Day - Today is National Orange Blossom Day! Pizza - Last evening, Laura produced one of her delicious pizzas! In the News - They walk among us! Enjoy - Relax and enjoy these images and videos!
National Orange Blossom Day is the national day of celebration to honor the flower that produces oranges. Orange blossoms have been used in culinary dishes, desserts, and teas worldwide. They add a slight citrus flavor to any dish!
When you think about orange trees, you usually only think about their fruit: bright orange rinds, the juicy citrusy flesh inside, and the many foods and flavors associated with oranges. But those fruits come from flowers. And so the orange blossom is celebrated in its own right.
The official state flower of Florida, the orange blossom is widely used in floral bouquets and as an essence in perfumerie. Culinarily, the orange blossoms are steeped, much like tea, to make orange blossom water, useful for just a slight taste of orange, but lighter, and fainter than using the orange fruit.
In Middle East cuisines, orange blossom water is used much like rosewaterto flavor desserts and baked goods.
She made the pizza dough and shaped it. She topped the dough with traditional red pizza sauce, pepperoni, artichoke hearts, sliced mushrooms, and several cheeses. As always, it was wonderful!

Friday and Saturday Food
Friday - I do not generally post on weekends, but I wish to share some of the wonderful food we have been enjoying. Saturday - Saturday, we gathered in the dining room and watched several episodes of "Duck Dynasty." If you have not seen this show, I highly recommend that you do. It is a wonderfully presented show that emphasizes family values, God, and guns.
Laura produced a wonderful homemade pizza Friday evening.
She prepared the toppings for the pizza. She cooked and crumbled pork sausage. She prepared sun-dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, and fresh basil.
She added sliced mushrooms.
She topped a thin pizza crust with pizza sauce, spread the toppings about, added pizza cheeses, and placed on a pizza pan in the oven, which was preheated to 450, turned down to 425, and baked for 8 minutes.
It was beautiful, and it tasted every bit as good as it looked!
Friday evening, we watched The Expendables 2 on the 39" Vizio HDTV in our bedroom using Chromecast. We have enjoyed Chromecast on the 49" Vizio HDTV for several weeks. I have also used it on the 39" Vizio HDTV at my office for several weeks. Yesterday, out third Chromecast unit arrived, and I installed it in our bedroom.
We became hungry, and Laura prepared some incredibly delicious bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwiches on toasted sourdough bread.
For dinner Saturday evening, Laura created another delicious pizza.

Ribs, Pizza, and Enjoy!
Ribs - Saturday, we produced an excellent rack of baby back ribs. Pizza - Sunday evening, Laura produced a succulent pizza. Enjoy! - Relax and enjoy!
Laura put an excellent rub on a large rack of baby back ribs. She used our favorite blend of garlic-pepper seasoning, Pappy's Seasoning, Gebhardt's chili powder, ground black pepper, and brown sugar. She then placed the rack in the refrigerator, where it rested for several hours.
Laura ignited our Weber grill, cleaned the grate, and placed the rack of ribs directly over the three left-hand burners. The burners were on high; the meat side of the ribs was facing the flame.
After 15 minutes, she turned the ribs.
After 30 minutes, she moved the ribs to the right-hand side of the grill and continued cooking them using indirect heat.
She sprayed the ribs every 15 minutes with a mixture of three parts apple cider vinegar and one part olive oil.
After two hours, Laura applied a swabbing of Stubbs sauce to half the rack.
She cooked the ribs for another hour and took them to the table.
They were absolutely wonderful!
While Laura tended the grill, I produced a stellar batch of Cajun rice and beans. It was an excellent complement to the ribs!
We feasted upon this delightful meal until we were sated. The leftovers provided a particularly delicious brunch Sunday after church.
She used a thin pizza crust, brushed it with extra-virgin olive oil, and topped it with pizza sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, red peppers, pepperoni, mushrooms, and cheeses. Leftovers followed us to work this morning.
