The Eve of September 11, God Is Great!, and Enjoy!

The Eve of September 11 - Tomorrow is the anniversary of September 11, 2001. I pray that there are no acts of terrorism attempted on this day!

The September 11 attacks (also referred to as September 11, September 11th, or 9/11 were a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks launched by the Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda upon the United States in New York City and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area on Tuesday, September 11, 2001.

God Is Great! - My Nexus 7 2013 tablet fell victim to a failed firmware update recently and was sent to an ASUS repair facility.

I waited (im)patiently for it to be repaired and returned to me. I received an email notification that it had been repaired and was on its way back to me. The estimated arrival was Tuesday, September 11 (today). I left my office at 3:30 PM yesterday. As I turned onto Solano Street, I saw a FedEx truck stop in the vicinity of my office. Generally, I do not take this route when going home at the end of the day. Generally, I take back streets that do not reach Solano Street for several blocks.

I saw the delivery person walk to the front door of my office. In his hand was a box. I quickly slithered Mr. Nitro R/T to the curb, hopped from his cabin, and skittered to the delivery person, calling out to him! I took the package from him, returned to Mr. Nitro R/T, and journeyed to our home. I opened the box, removed my repaired Nexus 7 2013, and began the process of restoring my accounts and apps.

Had God not directed me to take the route I took, I would not have encountered the FedEx truck, and I would not have my Nexus 7 2013 here with me!

God is great! Thank you, God!

    Just Because Day and Enjoy!

Just Because Day - Today is Just Because Day. Finally, you have a chance to do something without a reason. Most often in life, we do things because we have to, or we want to, or it is expected of us. None of those reasons apply today.

Is there something you would like to do, but there is no reason or logic for doing it? Well, today is the day to go out and do something "just because."

It is most enjoyable if it is an uncommon, or unexpected activity or action. Perhaps, you have something in mind. If not, just go with the first thing that comes to your mind.

To get you started, here are some of our suggestions for Just Because Day:

  • Take an unplanned day of vacation
  • Visit someone you haven't seen in a while
  • Knock on someone's door and compliment them for their great lawn
  • Skip, do not walk
  • Spin a wheel, and bicycle in the opposite direction of where the arrow points.
  • Buy something you do not need
  • Jump in a puddle
  • Walk backwards

    National Dog Day and Smile!

National Dog Day - National Dog Day has two goals: to honor dogs and to rescue dogs from homelessness and abuse. It is an opportunity for us to recognize and appreciate the value and importance of dogs in our lives.

This day is intended to honor dogs for all that they do for us. In addition to giving love and companionship, dogs help us out in countless ways: They are watchdogs for our safety; they lead the blind; they aid in search and rescue; and they seek out bombs and drugs.

The second goal of National Dog Day is to rescue dogs in need. On occasion, dogs need us to save them from homelessness and abuse. The goal of the National Dog Day foundation is to rescue 10,000 dogs a year. Lend a hand to help a dog in need today.

National Dog Day was created by the National Dog Day Foundation. Their motto is "Saving 10,000 Dogs - One Day at a Time."

    SMILE!

    Happiness Happens Day and Enjoy!

Happiness Happens Day - It is true. Happiness is happening somewhere at this very moment. In fact, because happiness seems to happen every day, the Secret Society of Happy People declared this day a holiday in 1999,

Here are some ways to celebrate:

  • Smile
  • Wear silver (the official color of Happiness Happens Day)
  • Buy someone coffee or a soda (with your silver coins)
  • Hand out Hershey kisses (they’re wrapped in silver)
  • Put together a happy box filled with things that make you smile (favorite photos, cards, letters, quotes, jokes, cartoons, etc.)
  • Listen to other people tell you what makes them happy
  • Do not rain on anyone’s parade!
  • Find the silver lining in every rain cloud.

National Hot Dog Day and Smile!

National Hot Dog Day - National Hot Dog Day celebrates one of America's favorite summer sandwiches. It is only fitting that this dog gets its day.

Its summertime. Hot dogs are center stage on the grill, and at picnics all across America. They are at the ballpark. They are sold from carts on street corners in every city. It's not hard to find them. We consume hundreds of millions of hot dogs on the Fourth of July alone.

Enjoy National Hot Dog Day to the fullest. Have a couple of hot dogs for lunch or dinner. And, don't forget to cook a few on a stick at the evening campfire.

We consume so many hot dogs, in so many venues, that the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council hesitates to forecast consumption. But, it does report that each year we buy over 837 million packages of hot dogs at retail outlets, and over 24 million hot dogs at baseball stadiums alone.

Smile! - Relax with a hot dog (or two or three)—adorned with your favorite condiments—and smile!
