Let It Rain! - I saw something falling from the sky this morning as I drove to mine office. Mr. Nitro became wet. I remembered experiencing this previously, yet it was so long hence it required a thorough probing of my memory in order to bring the experience to my conscious and allow me to capture the memory and draw from it and thereby identify what I am seeing falling from the sky.
It is RAIN!
It is raining very lightly, but it is raining!
Thank you, Father, for this gift you have given us. We shall treasure each drop. This is a very welcome sight. This area has been without rain for far too long!
I believe I shall go outside and let the rain fall upon me!

Rain - Rain! It is actually raining! In the News - They walk among us! Enjoy - Relax and enjoy these images and videos!
It has been so long since last it rained here, I had forgotten the sights and sounds of the rain!
When I awakened this morning, I hear the rain falling on the roof, and I said a prayer to the Lordthanking Him for the rain.
The weather reports this morning predict the rain will last only for a day or two and that the rainfall shall be meager. We are eager for whatever rain falls and for however long it falls!

National Chili Day, Dinner, In the News, and Enjoy
National Chili Day - Today is National Chili Day! Dinner - The weather yesterday afternoon was overcast and windy. It foretold of stormy weather soon to beset us. I determined that a big, hearty bowl of homemade vegetable soup would be a perfect dinner for such weather. I produced a wonderful vegetable soup that Laura later photographed and described to her Facebook friends as "stellar." In the News - They walk among us! Enjoy - Relax and enjoy these images and videos!
The first documented recipe for chili con carne is dated September 2, 1519, according to Wikipedia.
Hot chili peppers burn calories by triggering a thermodynamic burn in the bodyspeeding up the metabolism.
As enthusiasm for chili grew so did the competition to make the best chili. It is believed the first one took place in Texas in the early 1950s, although some accounts say it was in Terlinga, Texas in 1967.
Whether we are talking about the chili that includes meat, the vegetarian version, or the many other variations of this deliciously comforting food, chili holds a prominent spot in our culinary hearts.
When it comes to the story of chili, tales and myths abound. While many food historians agree that chili con carne is an American dish with Mexican roots, Mexicans are said to indignantly deny any association with the dish. Most historians agree that the earliest written description of chili came from J.C. Clopper, who lived near Houston.
By the 20th century chili joints had made their debut in Texas and became familiar all over the west by the 1920s. By the end of that decade, there was hardly a town that did not have a chili joint.
The soup consisted of baby carrots, spinach, white onion, green onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, garlic, potatoes, and an assortment of herbs and spices.

Rain, In the News, and Enjoy
Rain - Rain fell here yesterday! We have had no significant rain since the first week of December! In the News - They walk among us! Enjoy - Relax and enjoy these images and videos!
Unfortunately, it is dry today and there is but a 40% chance of rain. For tomorrow through next weekend, there is no rain in sight!
I am not a cold-weather person, and I have been enjoying the 60s and 70s weather. We desperately need rain, however!
The local rivers, streams, and lakes are seriously in need of water!
Traditionally, this area is a lush recreational wonderland that offers excellent boating, swimming, fishing, and other water-based diversions. There is precious little water remaining in these places now, and the tourismalong with farmers and ranchers, of courseare suffering greatly from the water shortage!

National Cat Day, Heated Seats, and Enjoy
National Cat Day - Today is National Cat Day! Heated Seats - The mornings have been uncomfortably cool lately. I am thankful for Mr. Nitro R/T's heated seats! Enjoy - Relax and enjoy these images and videos!
Charles Dickens said, "What greater gift than the love of a cat?"
Cats are one of the most beloved human companions of all time. They were first domesticated in the Middle East's Fertile Crescent approximately 12,000 years ago.
When humans relied on hunting as their main source of food, dogs were most useful; but when the first agricultural societies emerged, cats became invaluable. Domesticated cats became responsible for keeping grain stores free of mice and other rodents.
Today, cats can be found in 34% of American households, making them the most popular house pet in the United States.
Pet lifestyle expert and animal welfare advocate Colleen Paige established National Cat Day in 2005. In honor of the occasion, celebrate cats and the unconditional love and companionship they give to their owners.
There are few things in this world that bring greater discomfort than a cold butt!
I travel only a few blocks from our nest to mine office, but traveling that distance is sufficient for me to luxuriate in the warmth generated by the heated seat upon which I am posed.
The seats warm more quickly than the heater, so my butt is the first warm place on my body each morning. I cannot imagine life without heated seats!
