The Howling Wind and Falling Temperature The wind is howling again today—as it did yesterday. I had a photo shoot yesterday morning that was cancelled due to the howling wind. At least it was warm yesterday—albeit cold in the morning (52 degrees), it was warm in the afternoon (low 90s). Today, it is forecast to be a mere 77 degrees at peak temperature, and tomorrow is forecast to be a bone-chilling 70-degree high! Soon, it shall be requisite to don long trousers, socks, and shoes! How I loathe the thought.

While shopping at Sav-Mor Foods yesterday, I saw a 2.4-pound oyster. It was in the shell, so a good deal of the weight was shell. Nonetheless, this creature was enormous! It was easily over a foot long and approximately half that in width. I nearly purchased it for the novelty of having such an one. I should have done so. I checked today, and it was gone.

One of the members at our home church, Harvest Christian Center had hip-replacement surgery over the weekend. Other members have been providing meals for this lady and her husband. Laura volunteered to provide a dinner for them for Monday. I made Barilla thick spaghetti with marinara sauce. Laura took them half of the pasta dish, half a loaf of garlic bread, and a box of sugar-free fudgesicles. They were delighted. We enjoyed the balance of the meal after Laura returned from worship practice. The leftovers followed her to work this morning.

I froze a package of hot Italian sausage. The sausage is easily cut into 1/4-inch sections when frozen. I sautéed two sliced medium white onions, 10 sliced medium white mushrooms, four tablespoons of minced garlic, sea salt, ground black pepper, and the sausage in extra-virgin olive oil. When the onions were translucent, I added Italian seasoning and five diced medium cluster tomatoes. I turned down the heat and allowed this to simmer for two hours. When Laura arrived, she added a jar of Classico Italian sausage marinara sauce. I cooked a box of Barilla thick spaghetti until al dente (9 minutes), and Laura incorporated it into the sauce. It was wonderfully rick and delicious. At the table, we added DiGiorno fresh grated Parmesan cheese and crushed red pepper.

We were incredibly pleased to have been able to bless others with such a fine meal.
