Born on this Day in History: April 11, 1987 - Joss Stone was born in Dover, England. In 2002, she left home for New York City to pursue her dream and landed a deal with S-Curve CEO Steve Greenberg. A year later, she released her debut album, The Soul Sessions. The record reached the top 5 in the U.K. and the top 40 on the U.S. Billboard Chart. She followed her debut with 2004’s Mind, Body & Soul.

On this Day in History: April 11, 2006 - Rapper Proof is shot to death at the CCC Club on 8 Mile Road in Detroit, Michigan. He manages to kill Keith Bender Jr. before dying from a gunshot to the head. Proof was a founding member of D-12, a rap supergroup featuring Eminem.

Born on this Day in History: April 10, 1936 - John Madden was born in Austin, Minnesota. First joining Oakland in 1967, he was promoted to head coach in 1969 at age 33, the youngest head coach in the American Football League. Before retiring in 1979, he had lead the team to seven AFC Western Division titles and a victory over the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl XI. In 1980, he started his broadcasting career.

On this Day in History: April 10, 2003 - FBI agents raid the Noonday, Texas home of avowed white supremacist William Joseph Krar. Upon searching the domicile and some rented storage units, the agents turn up an arsenal including briefcase bombs with remote-controlled detonators, full-auto machine guns, silencers, nearly 500,000 rounds of ammunition, a 1953 military land mine, more than 800 grams of sodium cyanide, and a copy of The Turner Diaries. Krar later receives 11 years for possession of a dangerous chemical weapon.

Born on this Day in History: April 9, 1954 - After his breakout role in 1979’s Breaking Away, Dennis Quaid never looked back, starring in a wide variety of films ranging from huge hits (1983’s The Right Stuff) to disappointments (1983’s Jaws 3-D). Quaid found renewed success in the 1990s with such films as Any Given Sunday, Frequency, and Far from Heaven, for which he was named Best Supporting Actor by the New York Film Critics Circle.

On this Day in History: April 9, 1992 - Former Panamanian leader Manuel Noriega convicted of drug trafficking, money laundering, and racketeering by a federal court in Miami.

Born on this Day in History: April 6, 1976 - Actress Candace Cameron was born in Panorama City, California. She was the daughter of a talent agent and sister of Kirk Cameron’s sister. At the age of 11, she landed the role of D.J. Tanner on Full House that launched her career. She married NHL player Valeri Cameron in 1996 and had three children together. She works with Christian organizations and has a major role on ABC’s "Make It or Break It."

On this Day in History: April 6, 1868 - Mormon prophet Brigham Young marries 23-year-old Ann Eliza Webb. This is Young's 27th wife, 18 of which are still married to him.
