Born on this Day in History: November 14, 1954 - Condoleezza Rice was born in Birmingham, Alabama. She grew up surrounded by racism in the segregated South but went on to become the first woman and first African American to be a Stanford University provost. She was appointed National Security Adviser by George W. Bush in 2001, and served as the 66th Secretary of State of the United States from January 2005-2009.

On this Day in History: November 14, 1991 - Former postal employee Thomas McIlvane shoots and kills four of his ex-coworkers and wounds five others, and then suicides. The act was revenge for his recent firing for lying on his time card. McIlvane's previous work experience includes a dishonorable discharge from the Marine Corps, after he ran over a car with a tank.

Born on this Day in History: November 11, 1962 - Born Demetria Guynes on November 11, 1962, in Roswell, New Mexico, Demi Moore established herself as one of the leading actresses of the 1980s and early 1990s. After her marriage to Bruce Willis ended in divorce, she turned to producing films. Moore found great success in producing, with her company, Moving Pictures, producing all three Austin powers movies.

On this Day in History: November 11, 1988 - Seven bodies are discovered under the ground of a Sacramento California boardinghouse owned by Dorothea Puente. The batty landlord had killed nine elderly and was receiving their Social Security money.

Born on this Day in History: November 10, 1977 - Brittany Murphy got her big break in TV when she was 14 as a regular on the Fox sitcom "Drexell's Class" (1991). She soon landed roles in Clueless and Emma. After the success of Clueless, Murphy was offered a series of critically acclaimed film roles, including starring roles in Girl, Interrupted, 8 Mile, and Sin City. Soon after she was dropped from The Caller, she died of cardiac arrest at age 32.

On this Day in History: November 10, 1940 - Walt Disney begins serving as a secret informer for the Los Angeles office of the FBI, to report back information on Hollywood subversives. He was made a "Full Special Agent in Charge Contact" in 1954.

Born on this Day in History: November 9, 1936 - Mary Travers was born on November 9, 1936 in Louisville, Kentucky. She grew up in Greenwich Village and joined the folk music scene. Travers sang backup on Pete Seeger albums before forming a trio with Paul Stookey and Peter Yarrow, known as Peter, Paul & Mary. The folk group had hits with "If I Had a Hammer" and "Puff the Magic Dragon." Travers was diagnosed with Leukemia and died in 2009.

On this Day in History: November 9, 1997 - Michael Paul Lookinland, aka "Bobby" from the Brady Bunch, charged with drunk driving in St. George, Utah. With a BAL of 0.258, the 36-year-old former child star was very drunk.
